Chase And Status

Saul Milton (Chase) en Will Kennard (Status) zijn volgens Pharrell Williams (N*E*R*D) de meest opwindende Britse producers van vandaag. Liefde voor drum'n'bass brengt de twee halfweg de jaren 90 samen tijdens hun studies aan de Manchester University. Ze vullen vele dansvloeren, maar het duurt nog tot 2004 voor ze zelf muziek beginnen te maken. Een remix van 'Duppy Man' van Capleton maakt de naam van Chase & Status in de dance scene. Andy C, Jay-Z en Snoop Dogg outen zich als fan. Single 'End Credits' (2009) is een rechte weg naar de mainstream en installeert het duo als de grootste crossover act sinds Pendulum. Tweede album 'No More Idols' (2011) - met Cee-Lo Green, Dizzie Rascal en White Lies - bevestigt de nieuwe status. Het is een wervelwind waarin dubstep, grime, hip hop, funk en garage opgaan. Aangevuld met MC Rage en drummer Andy Gangadeen zijn Chase & Status ondertussen ook een straffe livemachine die Glastonbury, Pukkelpop en Lowlands al heeft omgeploegd. Enige nationale trots: het duo is grote fan van onze Murdock en onze Netsky. (Rock Werchter 2011)
