Amorphis
In Finland, metal has been top chart material for ages, but in the early days it was pioneers Amorphis who flew the flag for metal. That was twenty years ago and since then, they've evolved from brutal death metal across more folk-oriented and progressive influences to the colourful mix they stand for today: melodic, emotional metal with epic undertones that will appeal to a much larger audience than when they made their Graspop debut back in 1998. Amorphis' tenth studio album is scheduled for a May 2011 release. (Graspop 2011)
